Purfresh Appoints Robert E. McNamara Chief Financial Officer
Seasoned finance executive to help accelerate growth and expand global presence

Fremont, CA – July 21, 2009 – Purfresh, a provider of clean technologies that purify, protect, and preserve our food and water, today announced the appointment of Robert E. McNamara as chief financial officer. Mr. McNamara brings more than 25 years of financial experience to his new role at Purfresh, and will be responsible for the Company’s financial management and accounting activities as it accelerates growth and expands its global presence.

He will be an invaluable asset to the company, and will play an instrumental role in helping us achieve our short- and long-term financial objectives.”

Mr. McNamara joins Purfresh from Accuray, Inc., where he served as senior vice president and chief financial officer. During his tenure at the company, he directed and managed Accuray’s successful initial public offering. Prior to Accuray, Mr. McNamara served as chief executive officer for InDefense, Inc. Under his leadership, the company was acquired by Microsoft Corporation. Previously, Mr. McNamara held senior positions at Recourse Technologies, Inc. (acquired by Symantec), ebDirect, Inc., Somnus Medical Technologies, Inc., Target Therapeutics, Inc. (acquired by Boston Scientific), and Guittard Chocolate Co.

Mr. McNamara holds a master’s degree in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, and bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of San Francisco. In addition, Mr. McNamara is a Certified Public Accountant.
