Press Releases Index | Media Coverage Purfresh Appoints Plumrose USA Leader David Schanzer to its Board of Directors Industry veteran CEO brings decades of senior management and sales experience Fremont, Calif. —May 2, 2012—Purfresh, Inc., an innovator of active atmosphere and supply chain management technologies that optimize the quality of fresh food as it moves around the world, announced today the appointment of Mr. David Schanzer to its board of directors. Mr. Schanzer, chief executive officer of Plumrose USA, Inc., a subsidiary of Danish Crown, joins a stellar line up of technology and venture capital leaders, who together bring a broad range of strategic and operational insights to Purfresh.
Prior to Plumrose USA, Mr. Schanzer co-founded and was chief executive officer of Global Fresh Foods, a technology provider that naturally extends the shelf life of fresh proteins. Before Global Fresh Foods, Mr. Schanzer was group vice president for Foster Farms, where he led retail marketing and business units, foodservice sales and marketing, retail sales merchandisers, and research and development. Earlier, Mr. Schanzer held senior positions at Kraft Foods, ConAgra Foods, and Fresh Express. Mr. Schanzer holds a Master's degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, Illinois, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University, Illinois.
