Purshade Solar Stress Protectant Delivers a 97% Satisfaction Rate
Purshade users benefit from a reduction in cullage, improved crop quality, and ease of use
Fremont, CA – Feb. 23, 2010 – Purfresh, a provider of clean technologies that purify, protect, and preserve our food and water, today announced that in a recent survey, 97% of Purshade® users “were satisfied” or “more than satisfied” with the results they achieved using the product on their crops in 2009. Respondents of the survey were distributors of the Purshade product line and represented more than 240 growers of a variety of crops in the United States including apples, melons, onions, tomatoes, wine grapes, and pomegranates. The survey showed that of the growers represented in the survey:
- More than 97 percent were satisfied with the Purshade product;
- Ninety-six percent benefitted from a reduction in solar-related cullage;
- More than 80 percent are highly likely to use the product again in 2010.
In addition, the survey also highlighted that growers favor the product’s ease of application, compatibility with other products, andease of wash off.
“All of us at Purfresh are thrilled with the survey results. It is great to see that our solar protectants are not only easy to use, but that they are also highly effective and delivering real results for our customers,” Mr. Tom Justmann, general manager, plant health group for Purfresh. “The survey was yet another validation that growers can reduce costly losses commonly associated with solar damage and improve crop quality by incorporating Purshade into their preventative spray programs.”
Purshade was scientifically engineered to provide superior protection against the damaging effects of solar stress. Based on patent-pending Advanced Reflectance Technology™ (ART™), Purshade reflects harmful wavelengths of solar radiation such as ultraviolet (UV) and infrared (IR), while allowing transmission of sufficient sunlight for photosynthesis. Laboratory results show Purshade reflects as much as 85–95 percent of harmful UV radiation, and has been shown to keep plant surfaces 3–6 degrees Celsius cooler than untreated plants.
TIME Magazine named Purshade one of the 50 Best Inventions of the Year in 2008.
